Hello Four Seasons Bonsai Club members and Bonsai enthusiasts. I hope all is going well for each and every one of you.
We plan on an exciting 2024 year starting off this month with what we are calling a “2024 Welcome – Spring Maintenance & Prep” meeting. This meeting is Sunday 25 February from 1-3 pm at Bordine’s Nursery.
We will address the Club’s 2024 Calendar of events. Then we will discuss spring maintenance and preparation of your trees.
This year’s calendar highlights of events include a 5 Ring Circus on topics, Bonsai Care, a Nursery Crawl Road Trip, the annual Club Auction and Potluck event, Workshops, annual Show and more. See the calendar in this newsletter.
The 2024 Four Seasons Bonsai Club Calendar is now posted on our website at fourseasonsbonsai.com. The website is active and we are continuing to see what we can do to provide additional information and capabilities.
We also encourage that for each meeting that you bring in your tree(s) for Show and Tell. You can share your Bonsai with other members and even ask for advice if needed. Also, please bring a friend to a meeting, should they be interested in the Art of Bonsai.
President’s Message Continued:
There are even other shows this year, like the Michigan All-State Bonsai Show at Meijer Gardens May 10-12. This show will be huge, with many activities and Bonsai Masters. This year the show is combined with ABS (American Bonsai Society) events. There are seminars, workshops, vendors and a Bonsai show display.
This 2024 year is one of continuing last year’s successes and continuing the club tradition and objectives. The club is here to share the Art of Bonsai by promoting knowledge, interest, education and the enjoyment of Bonsai and other plants. For your information, the club was established in 1972 and incorporated in 1973. This is our 52nd year.
This will be our first 2024 meeting for the year. So please everyone come out and enjoy the company with fellow Bonsai enthusiasts. Come early and help setup for the meeting or even browse through all of Bordines’ great offerings. There will be refreshments too!
